Zouma updates?
Looked really bad but he played on although obviously in pain. Reports of ACL, then that it wasn’t so bad. I can’t imagine he’d have been able to finish the game with an ACL.

Any more news at all? Anyone know if he left the ground on crutches or in a walking boot?

Died this morning, someone switched off his life support machine. The authorities say they are looking for a black guy about 6ft 3in with a French accent.

Going for a scan, same knee as recently apparently.

Re: Zouma updates?
Seemed that he over bent his right knee but it was straight when he did it. ACL is usually when the knee goes out of alignment.

ACL isn’t always the end. I have an 80% ACL tear I. My left knee. Rehabbed it for three months strengthening all the other muscles in the leg to give the knee full support thru the quads calves etc.

I’m totally pain free and can play / twist and turn no problem at all.

it’s Handy when your missus is a physio 😎

That's great. Moyes says are you available this Tuesday :)

I will of course demand the Number 6 shirt though

I can't be any worse than Diop, or any slower than Dawson. I can punt the ball 50 meters so I reckon I'll fit right in.

I'm rather white though.

You can move okay if you done your ACL. It's lateral movement and cutting that is difficult. I cannot believe they sent him back out there knowing it was the same knee he injured previously. Did the same thing with Ogbonna.

I think I saw a stat once somewhere that 80% of players who have an ACL are out of the top flight within 2 years of 'recovery'. I think that's the worry - I mean Lanzini is probably on the very edge of that stat.

Nagel 12:36 Mon Feb 7
Re: Zouma updates?
I don't think that stat is correct, MrSnoogans.

According to the British Journal of Sports Medicine, 85.8% of players returned to play and 65% were still playing at the top level after 3 years.

ah, that's the stat I was looking for. Only I couldn't have got it more wrong if I had tried. FFS

The only thing that appears to be confirmed is that he's having a scan today. Everything else is speculation

He is probably an outlier but Joe Burrow tore his ACL and MCL half way through the last NFL season and piloted his team to the Superbowl this season.
The medical team must have done a superb job as his running and pass rush evasion is as good as ever (which it has needed to be given his porous offensive line).

Re: Zouma updates?
According to C&H Zouma has decided against having a scan and has made himself available for the Watford game!

Surely Moyes and the medical staff have to intervene and tell him he has to have a scan as a precaution?

Re: Zouma updates?
Nick Bosa of the 49ers tore his ACL last season 2020 and came back this season and played lights out all year. He’s an edge rusher too lot of cutting and sidestepping to get to the QB.
He ended up with a shitload of sacks so it didn’t slow him down a bit.

Re: Zouma updates?
I had a mate who did his ACL back in the early 80s, they injected his knee with cortisone and said he would be able to play for another year at the most.

He finally retired from playing in 2010.

In a wheelchair now though!!!!!!!!

( He isn't really but he does have arthritis in his knee )
